Girmachew Kebede
The Ethiopian Premier League Share Company (EPLSC) has signed a two-year broadcast agreement with Oromia Broadcasting Network (OBN).
Under the deal, OBN will air up to 250 league matches live each season. The network becomes only the second broadcaster to carry the league, following SuperSport’s five-season tenure.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has been confirmed as title sponsor. The competition will be branded the CBE Ethiopia Premier League.
The 2025/26 season kicks off Saturday, October 18, 2025
Girmachew Kebede
Founder of Tilafok.com, Girmachew Kebede is a sports journalist with more than a decade of newsroom and on-air experience. He served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Ethio-Sport newspaper, was host and News Editor for the Bisrat Sport radio show, and worked as a football analyst with Kuas Meda. He co-created the Rigore sports show. He was also sports and political stringer for Voice of America’s Horn of Africa Service. His articles were selected among the Top 10 in Africa by the AIPS Sport Media Awards in 2018 and 2022.
