The Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) has finalized its preparations to host the 13th Ethiopian U-20 and 4th U-18 Athletics Championships in Dire Dawa from **May 26– June 1, 2025.

Participation and Categories
The championships will feature:
– 8 regional teams, 2 city administrations, and 35 clubs/institutions.
– Competition in two age categories: U-20 and U-18.
A total of 1,195 athletes will compete:
– U-20: 359 female and 463 male athletes (825 total).
– U-18: 178 female and 192 male athletes (370 total).
The event aims to select athletes who will represent Ethiopia at the 2025 African U-18 and U-20 Athletics Championships in Abuja, Nigeria.
The press conference was administered by Athletics Federation president Commander Athlete Sileshi Sihen, and administration staff alongside the team Doctor.
The federation emphasized the event’s role in nurturing young talent and strengthening Ethiopia’s athletics pipeline for international competitions.
