Selam Zeray and Wanaw Sports brand sign agreement at Capital Hotel
CAF elite instructor and Liberian women’s football coach Selam Zeray has penned a three-year contract with Wanaw Sports Brand. Wanaw is a sports kit manufacturer that has been in business in the past couple of years but has established prominence in the game. Wanaw has previously signed Shemelis Bekele as its kit ambassador.
During the announcement, Selam said she first wanted to thank herself for her perseverance and not giving up despite the many challenges she encountered as a women in football. “ You have heard the highs of my career. But there were incredible lows too. And during those periods Wanaw has been there for me. I will try to connect the Liberian national team with the sports brand” said Selam.
Selam will advertise the kit on social and mainstream media. Together with Selam Wanaw will also work on women’s empowerment with different NGO organizations.
Selam also noted that coaches should work with brands to promote themselves. “ We usually see players getting these endorsement deals but coaches should also be active in this regard” she noted.
