Saint George respond on the pitch

Following a productive week in which the club was given a total of 100 million birr from MIDROC, BGI, and the Addis Ababa City administration- St George managed to grab all three points in their game against Hadiya Hossana.

Fuad Abdela’s stoppage time goal was enough to help the Horsemen win after Yeabsera Gossaye’s goal to put them ahead was cancelled by an own goal by the same player.

The win lifts St. George off of the relegation zone and puts the team in 16th place with 28 points. With crucial games coming up in the next few weeks it will be important for the record Ethiopian Premier League champions to keep the momentum going.

In the rest of the Saturday fixtures Ethiopia Nigid Bank drew 0-0 with Wolaitta Dicha while Ethiopia Bunna managed to beat Ethiopia Medin through Biniam Getachew’s sole strike. Sidama Bunna, meanwhile, continued their title push thanks to a 1-0 win against Mekelle 70 Enderta. Abel Yalew got the goal for the league leaders.
