Lidya Tafese, a former renowned international referee, has been appointed as a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Referees’ Committee.
Lidya,the Deputy Chairperson of the Ethiopian National Referees Committee, has been selected to join the newly structured 12-member committee formed by CAF.
She was the first female Ethiopian to referee at an international game outside of her country. She was also the first female Ethiopian to be a referee at the World Cup.
Lidya also serves as a CAF Referees Instructor.
