The Ethiopian U17 national team is set to face Morocco in their second group stage match of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) this Saturday at 10:00 PM.
The Red Foxes opened their campaign with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Egypt. While the team delivered a defensively solid performance, they struggled to create enough clear-cut chances to secure all three points.
Despite the opening stalemate, optimism remains high in the camp, with players confident that they will deliver an improved performance in their second outing.
“We have prepared well for this match,” stated Kidus Dawit. “We learned a lot from the opening game, where we played a bit too deep. Against Morocco, we intend to push forward and play a more attacking brand of football.”
Ethiopia’s opponents, Morocco, also drew their first game, a 1-1 stalemate with fellow North African nation Tunisia. The game was marred by controversy as the Moroccans believed they were denied two clear penalties.
