Mechal Sport Club, who is celebrating its 80th anniversary, has invited former Manchester United and Portugal national team player Luis Nani to attend the celebrations.
Nani was warmly welcomed at Addis Ababa airport and said he wants to know more about Ethiopia and Africa in general.
Mechal will play Ugandan side Kitara at Addis Ababa stadium on Sunday to celebrate the anniversary.
In addition to Nani former Nigerian star Kanu also arrived at Addis Ababa. He said that young players can learn a lot from the journey of Nani.
Nani got widespread recognition after his move from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United in 2007. He won the Premier League and Champions League in his first season at the club. He also won the Euros in 2016 with his country Portugal.
Nani took to X to thank those who organized the event in Addis Ababa.
